14 – Interview with a Rupert
Comic Blog
The sign from the previous comic is always just out of view in this one, sometimes behind word balloons. It’s there; trust me. Just because something’s annoying to draw doesn’t mean it disappeared – that’s just silly.
There’s a ton of text in this one, so I’m surprised I got it done on time, especially since I added the shading to the fourth panel. Wait, it’s Monday already? Okay, not “on time”, but … uh, the other thing. To be fair, the site had some weird errors when I was trying to upload the file, and I was a little hesitant to draw anything too complicated since there was a huge lightning storm, but thankfully I had power and Internet the whole time. It turns out the weird error I was getting might have been because the file kept getting saved as Read Only with nobody as the owner … somehow. None of the previous pages did that, and I’m saving them in the same exact way, so it’s something that my computer just started to do with comic 14. I’ll blame the previous one for messing with my computer’s luck. I can’t even delete the file because it needs Admin access, which I definitely have, but there’s no owner so it won’t let me. Guess that’s there forever! After a couple of hours of poking around and trying to save the file different ways, it finally saved by saving as JPG instead of PNG. No clue why, but I guess the problem will resolve itself or I’ll have to figure it out next week!
Here’s some extras from drawing this one! The one that’s just a face is how I draw the boss’ eyes before I fill them in, just to be goofy. The other two are me messing around with layers as I filled in the drawing. One makes it look like he has a hairy back, and one looks like a blur monster. (I have to explain it first and then put the pictures in because for some reason images before text majorly messes up the formatting of the page!)
